Citation line finder
Paste an explainer and list the sentences that can stand alone: 12–32 words, with a definition, a boundary, or a number.
Which sentences does the citation finder keep?
It keeps sentences between 12 and 32 words that read like a definition or a boundary, or that contain a digit. It drops “we think,” “game-changer,” and other lines that cannot be quoted. The scan runs in the browser.
Paste a draft to find citable lines.
How to use it
Paste a section or the whole draft.
If the list is empty, the precise fact is missing or it is buried in a 50-word sentence. Split that sentence.
A sentence that starts with “this” will usually fail the “stands alone” test. Repeat the subject.
Move one kept sentence into the first paragraph if the only hits are at the bottom.
Questions
Does a hit mean the sentence is true?
No. It means the shape is quotable. You still have to be right, and you still need a source for any number.
Why drop short sentences?
Under 12 words is usually a slogan. Slogans do not carry a decision when they are quoted.
Is the draft uploaded?
No. It stays on this page in your browser.
